  • Hermosa marks the moment when FOLPism moved from pure chromatic experimentation into expressive meaning. Created while living near the ocean in the South Bay of Los Angeles, this period opened a new internal space: fluidity replaced hard-edged color fields, narrative and psychology began to emerge, and FOLPs evolved from experimental forms into emotional figures.

The Hermosa period represents awakening — a shift from color as discovery into color as lived experience.
