Rather than being invented, these animals are revealed through close examination of the paint itself—sometimes within areas measuring less than one square inch.
Each form is inspired by an animal found in Hawaiʻi and is enlarged and translated into an archival watercolor giclée print.

The Hawaiian Animal Series consists of six macro-discovered forms found inside Tom’s FOLPs (Figures of Limited Predictability). These animals were revealed through detailed macro examination of dried paint surfaces. Each form is expanded into archival watercolor editions.
