Statement
My art: When I was a kid, I would stare at a color and hold my breath for so long the color changed. Then, I'd stare at the color and think happy thoughts. Then suddenly I'd try to think sad thoughts... again the color seemed to have changed. I attempt to explore this line of thought with my art.
My paintings are made from scratch; everything from the unique handmade wood stretchers to stretching my own canvas (usually altar linen) to the finished frame. I also invented unique handmade tools (color wands) for delivering color to the surface.
This is who I am (not): My studio and home are in the middle of the woods. There's no art scene here, but I spend most of my time thinking about and making art. I do this in solitude. The public is unaware of my artistic endeavors because I create art under a separate identity.
