Thomas Zanz Biography

Thomas Zanz is a painter best known for his contemporary psychological abstract paintings characterized by groundbreaking techniques and signature freeform color studies.


A natural-born artist putting 100% of himself into every painting, He constructs unique handmade stretcher frames, stretches the surface, hand-mixes paint, and finishes with frames.

One of his most popular series is "Happy Places-44''. It features a full-spectrum color-chart study of 44  paintings accompanied by uplifting phrases designed to propel the viewer's mind into a happy place. Each painting comes with a travel box to create 44 happy places.

Thomas obtained a Bachelor of Fine Art in Painting in 1989. He's lived in over ten cities in the United States and traveled the world. These experiences have influenced the style of his internationally collected paintings.

Thomas and his wife live on the tropical island paradise of Maui, Hawaii, where they enjoy surfing and living the island life as creatives.
